The school’s potato patch will be dug up during the day and bags of produce sold off as a fund-raiser. People will also be able to join in a search for a golden spud planted somewhere in the plot’s rich volcanic soil.

The fete, a biannual event that was revived in 2012, will run from 10am-2pm with a jam-packed program.

A fun day out for children is assured with an impressive kids’ area that includes jumping castles and the popular laser strike. Children can access this area by pre-purchasing a $20 armband or paying $25 on the day.

A free jumping castle will be set up in a separate area for younger children.

The bric-a-brac section will be even bigger with the school’s art room overflowing with donated goods.

The produce and plant stall section will feature special guest author Kevin Sparrow talking about his Plants of the Great South West book.
