Leading Senior Constable John Lee, of Colac police, said the accident occurred when the driver of the quad-bike pulled out of a driveway and into the path of a truck travelling west on the Colac-Timboon Road about 10.30am yesterday.
Leading Senior Constable Lee said the man died at the scene from major injuries.
He said the man was from overseas and was on a working holiday on a Bungador dairy farm.
The truck driver, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to Colac hospital for treatment for shock but was otherwise uninjured.
The death brings this year’s provisional road toll for Victoria to 27, seven more than for the same time last year.
