About 300 people turned out to see 50 competitors take part in skateboard, BMX and scooter categories as Warrnambool Skate Park hosted round two of the Barwon South West Skate Park League competition.
Warrnambool’s Liam Arnott was the star of the day, winning both the open skateboard and scooter sections.
The competition began in Lorne last weekend and will travel around the region, including to Camperdown and Port Fairy.
Competitors get points for their placings in each leg of the competition, with a tally of the total points deciding the winner at the end of the series.
Warrnambool City Council youth development officer Katie McKean said the competition was organised by the YMCA and each council that hosts a leg of the series.
Ms McKean said Warrnambool teenagers Hamish Barker, Tobi Barker, Mitch Dowsley and James Russell helped the event run smoothly.
“Late last year these four went and did some training to learn how to run an event and they did a great job on Saturday,” Ms McKean said.
