The leader of the National Party and minister for infrastructure and regional development will stop by the event on February 14, making his first visit to the region since attending Sheepvention in 2012.
Member for Wannon Dan Tehan said Mr Truss was a strong advocate for rural and regional Australia and a third-generation farmer.
“Mr Truss will visit the field day sites throughout Friday and will also be guest speaker at the Sungold Field Days official luncheon,” Mr Tehan said.
“A strong dairy industry is vital for the future development of Wannon and I am pleased that Mr Truss will be able to get a good overview of the industry locally by attending the Sungold Field Days.”
Sungold Field Days chairman Tony Rea said it was an honour to have the deputy PM at the event.
“It is a great vote of confidence in the dairy industry and the field days and indeed the whole rural community,” Mr Rea said.
