Work done on Wednesday at the Koroit Street base station permanently increased the capacity of Telstra’s local network, the company’s south-west area manager Bill Mundy said.
“As part of those planned works there was some disruption to service and we apologise to customers affected,” Mr Mundy said.
“The plan was to improve mobile service into the area so when people arrive for the summer period we’ve got plenty of capacity in the mobile network to meet their needs.
“This is all permanent work that’s being undertaken as part of the ongoing work to improve services throughout Australia, to increase the capacity of the NextG network.”
