Joel Wackett, 21, of Skene Street, pleaded not guilty two charges of rape at a committal hearing in Warrnambool Magistrates Court yesterday. The two charges relate to an alleged incident on January 22, 2011.
The court heard from two prosecution witnesses and the alleged victim yesterday. The alleged victim’s evidence was given to a closed court.
Mr Wackett did not take the stand yesterday.
Magistrate Jonathan Klestadt said he was satisfied there was enough evidence and ordered Mr Wackett to stand trial.
He was bailed on conditions he live at Skene Street and not contact any prosecution witnesses.
Mr Wackett will appear at a directions hearing in Melbourne County Court on February 5.
