Bupa Care Services Australia has bought Innovative Care and its 10 residential aged care homes with 1114 beds.
The deal, which is expected to get full regulatory approval in February, involves Glenelg Community Aged Care on Wellington Road, Portland which has 120 beds.
Glenelg was opened in January 2011 on a 1.6-hectare site.
Bupa has said it will make employment offers to Innovative staff.
The deal will increase Bupa’s portfolio to 60 homes with 5616 beds.
“This acquisition will strengthen our ability to be a healthcare partner to more Australians in aged care,” Bupa’s Australian and New Zealand managing director Dean Holden said. “It is the most significant acquisition in the Australian aged care market for several years.”
