Accident compounds 'horror start' to holiday season

A man in his 60s has suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision in Dandenong on Monday night.

Police attended the scene of the accident at the intersection of Quinn Street and the Princes Highway.

Police believe the man was pulling out of a service lane when the accident occurred about 8.30pm.

He was taken to Dandenong Hospital. A 27-year-old ute driver escaped the collision unhurt.

The accident comes after three people died on Victoria's roads on Monday in separate incidents.

Ambulance Victoria said it had been a "horror start" to the Christmas holiday.
