Earlier this month The Age reported a couple took the dog, named Buddy, from Pets Paradise Melbourne Central. Police found the dog at a house in Heidelberg West about 7.40 tonight.
A police spokeswoman said a man and woman had been arrested earlier tonight in Moonee Ponds.
The dog was taken on Sunday December 16. Pets Paradise staff had reportedly told police a woman distracted a worker at the store while a man took the puppy from its enclosure.
Buddy will spend the night with a police officer from the Moonee Ponds station.
