Man stabbed in throat during dogfight

A man has been stabbed in the throat during a dogfight in the small country town of Dunolly in Victoria's Goldfields region.

Central Goldfields crime investigation unit is appealing for witnesses to the stabbing, which occurred on Broadway shortly after 11am.

Detectives say two men became embroiled in a dispute after their dogs began fighting.

A Dunolly man, 39, was treated at Maryborough Hospital for a non-life-threatening stab wound.

A McIntyre man, 55, has been questioned by police.

Neither dog was injured.
