The Kepler Street office in part of the Pontings Bros timber and hardware business will provide building permit services and Master Builders Australia (MBA) insurance advice, building contracts and membership information.
It will be staffed by building inspector Graeme Schultz and supported by building surveyor Wayne Cooper.
Mr Schultz will inspect construction stages such as slab, frame and final inspections, while Mr Cooper will issue certificates of occupancy.
Mr Schultz and Mr Cooper have each been involved in the building industry for about 30 years. Mr Schultz said the new Warrnambool office would better service “pent-up demand” from builders who had previously had to go through Ballarat, Geelong or Melbourne.
It would also be able to help people with legal, industrial relations and occupational health and safety issues.
“I’ll be able to direct people to the right people in the MBA,” Mr Schultz said.
Ponting Bros had previously provided MBA forms to builders.
