This week, everyone in this district should make sure their property is prepared and every member of the family knows what to do if there is a fire in the area. You might hear talk that this year is expected to be an “average” fire season. South-east Australia is one of the most fire-prone areas in the world, so an average season means there will be bushfires.
The CFA website, www.cfa.vic.gov.au, and the Victorian Bushfire Information Line, dial 1800 240 667, are good sources of advice.
