The Cats are undefeated six rounds into the South West Cricket season with four wins.
Round one was washed out and they’ve also had a bye.
Lamont, who led the way with four wickets and an unbeaten 70, said the seven-wicket win against a tough Terang outfit was pleasing.
“It was our best all-round performance for the year,” he said.
“Every game we’ve got ourselves into a good position and our middle and lower order has collapsed.
“We only lost four wickets yesterday so we didn’t get into that situation.”
Terang batted first at D. C. Farran Oval and was limited to 8-139.
Lamont rattled its top order, snaring 4-35 including the prized wicket of Ben Grinter for seven.
Terang’s Brandon Bant did his best to advance his side’s score, making an unbeaten 35 batting at six.
Mortlake opener Josh Barr (39) and middle-order bat Shane Slater (53) complemented Lamont’s haul.
The Cats passed Terang’s total three wickets down but batted out their 50 overs.
Terang used nine bowlers, with Bant the best with 2-20.
Lamont has made 47, 52, 1, 39 and 70 to start his season on a positive note.
“It’s pleasing to get some runs,” he said.
Heytesbury Rebels made it two wins in their past two games.
Coming off the bye, the Timboon-based club backed up its first-ever division one win with a seven-wicket win against Boorcan.
Boorcan was skittled for 98 in 31.2 overs with Patrick Heffernan (51) the mainstay of its innings.
Heytesbury Rebels captain Travis Brown top scored for his side with 47 as they went on to post 8-190 off 50 overs.
Boorcan used 10 bowlers.
Cobden recorded a 32-run win against Bookaar.
It was in trouble at 4-55 before it steadied through middle order bats Brayden Crow (38), Leigh Walsh (44) and Paul Hinkley (34) and made 9-180.
Sylas Merrett took 4-35 for Bookaar.
The Pelicans cobbled together 148 in reply, with lower order bat Jack Osborne top-scoring with 31.
Angus Uwland (3-18) and Jake Reed (3-20) were Cobden’s most efficient bowlers.
Pomborneit batsmen Steve Murphy (67 not out) and Luke Renyolds (56) combined for a 89-run fourth-wicket stand which helped the Bulls to a thumping 146-run win against Camperdown.
The Bulls posted 5-247, with Steven Fisher chiming in with an unbeaten 44.
The Lakers were dismissed for 101 in reply, with Pomborneit bowlers Steven O’Neill (3-13) and Stephen Walters (3-14) doing the damage.
Noorat had the bye.
