This role is in direct line to Partnership as you will inherit a large existing practice, client base and team. This is an opportunity for the right person to inherit a practice within the next 3-4 years with a clear succession pathway to Partner. Or, if you are already at Partner level, then the firm will open discussions to bring you across at level.

They are seeking a senior practitioner who has the desire to make their own mark in a firm, potentially look at equity options down the track an join a high profile leadership group.

Job Description

• Advising clients and preparing formal legal opinions
• Leading negotiations with counter parts
• Implementing estate plans and drafting legal documents including: Wills, Testamentary Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Loan Agreements
• Conducting Contested Wills and Estates Litigation including Family Provision Claims, Rectification of Wills and Probate Litigation generally
• Maintain and develop the internal client referral network
• Preparation of wills, testamentary trusts and enduring powers of attorney
• Advising on and implementing complex structures (trusts; superannuation; asset protection)
• Deceased estate administration (complex and straightforward)
• Statutory will, construction and rectification applications
• ACAT applications relating to attorneys, guardians and elder abuse

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have experience in:

• Advising clients and preparing formal legal opinions
• Leading complex negotiations
• Implementing estate plans and drafting legal documents including: Wills, Testamentary Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Loan Agreements
• Maintain and develop the internal client referral network
• Experience in estate litigation would be highly regarded
• At least 5 years PQE in Wills and Estates
