Norwest Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our neurosurgery/orthopaedic ward in a full time role. In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

This role would be suitable for someone dedicated to the nursing profession who enjoys working in a surgical ward.

As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver evidence based nursing care
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to deliver patient care
  • Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs

Norwest Private Hospital is in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney's Bella Vista.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Working With Children Check (willingness to acquire)
  • Commitment to quality patient care
  • Sound medical knowledge and experience
  • Minimum 2 years' surgical experience in an Australian hospital setting
  • Works independently and within a team
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional computer skills
  • Post graduate certificate in neuro science (desirable) - the successful candidate will be supported to obtain this certificate by the manager and executive team

Applicants will be required to undergo a National Police check, WWCC (where applicable) and Evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses' and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024" (salaries range between $34.59 and $48.58 per hour).
