THE new compact edition of the White and Yellow Pages directory has been ditched after complaints from customers.
Sensis announced today that regional editions of the book would revert back to the larger-size format next year in response to user feedback.
The south-west edition of the compact directory drew heavy criticism from
Sensis executive general manager of product Carl Rigoni said the reversal followed a review of responses from users and advertisers about the compact-size book.
"We believe most people prefer a book that is lighter and easier to handle, but in order to publish a book in this format we need to alter the font size," Mr Rigoni said.
"We'll continue to develop a solution that satisfies these requirements, but in the meantime the regional books will appear in the larger size format."
Mr Rigoni said Sensis would continue its research to find a format for the directories that balanced comprehensive content with format and font size.
