Free tips to make your home greener, cheaper

FREE tips on how to easily cut household energy costs and help the environment will be shared with tenants and homeowners in Warrnambool tonight.

The city council, in partnership with Green Renters and Smart Living, will present a two-hour workshop on sustainable living at the Lighthouse Theatre studio from 6.30pm.

The council's climate change officer James Osborne said significant savings could be gained from making even the smallest of adjustments to a home or flat.

"A lot of people think they can't make environmental improvements or reduce their utility costs without major alterations like installing solar panels, which isn't usually an option for renters," he said.

"But this workshop will show tenants and homeowners alike just how easy it can be."

Entry is free but bookings are essential on 5559 4438.
