THE region’s top indoor bowlers will face off when Warrnambool sends a team to the Ballarat inter group championships next month.
The Indoor Bowls Warrnambool (IBW) match committee had the task of selecting 13 women and 13 men, plus emergencies, to represent the city in 10 sections against other bowls associations.
Matches will be held across three days at the tournament, which runs from June 9 to June 11 at the Miner Dome Sports Club in Wendouree.
Ballarat last year dominated the major state meeting at Ken Kay Badminton Stadium, with Warrnambool placing fourth overall and winning the women’s singles and women’s pairs.
The titles format will feature men’s and women’s singles, men’s, women’s and mixed pairs, men’s and women’s triples, men’s, women’s and mixed fours, with 14 live ends for teams and 21 live ends for singles.
Each player chosen to represent IBW has been selected for one event, with a total of nine games.
Winners and runners-up in individual events will be decided on wins, shots up and percentage, while the winning association, calculated by points for every game and team win, will receive the Lionel Clifton Shield.
