WARRNAMBOOL’S football fraternity is expected to turn out en masse for the funeral of Stephen “Jack” Kelson today.
Mr Kelson, 41, died suddenly on Sunday, April 22. He was the Merrivale football club senior coach.
On Saturday there was a minute’s silence observed at the Merrivale Recreation Reserve before the clash against Deakin University.

South Warrnambool players also attended and took part in the tribute.
The Tigers went on to win by 182 points in a fitting tribute to their coach.
Newly appointed Merrivale leader Todd McLean kicked eight goals in a starring role.
Club president Paul Fish said he was pleased by how the senior side played after a tough week.

“I thought the boys were a real credit to themselves. To come out and perform like they did was really great,” he said.
Today’s funeral service will start from 11am at the Wannon Rooms at the Warrnambool Showgrounds.
Mr Kelson was a past coach of both South Warrnambool and Old Collegians.
