The 41-year-old father-of-three died late Friday when his car left the Princes Highway near Allansford and crashed into a power pole.

Emergency services attended but Mr Ford died at the scene.

Mr Ford was a devoted husband to Sharon and father to Chloe, 16, Jye, 15, and Evie, 11.

Sharon said Mr Ford was her "best friend and soul mate".

"Everyone he met, he touched in a positive way with his personality and beautiful, infectious smile," she said.

"Quinn was such a family man. He will be terribly missed by so many - his mum Gloria, his amazing children, his sister Seonna, brother-in-law Luke and beautiful nieces Charli, Grace and Sophie."

Mr Ford was a butcher by trade and a keen sportsman who had a special place in the heart of the Purnim Cricket Club.

Former Purnim Cricket Club president Greg Bull said if you needed helping hands, Mr Ford's were huge.

"Nothing was too much for him to do," he said.

"Quinn was someone who took up cricket pretty late in life but you could tell from his sporting background that he was a very determined man. He loved his C grade cricket on a Sunday but if you ever asked him to play A grade and field all day and bat number 11, he would put his hand up and do that for the team. That was the sort of bloke he was."

Mr Bull said Mr Ford was a "devoted family man" who gave up a lot of his time for local sporting clubs.

"He captained our C grade cricket team for a few years, as well as the juniors at a time when he was probably still learning the game himself," he said.

"He loved his kids who have always been around Purnim since they were very young. I've got the pleasure of coaching his son Jye in the under-15s joint Grassmere team. He was elected captain by his teammates and I know when I rang to tell Quinn, that was something pretty special to him."

Mr Bull said Mr Ford would be remembered as an easy-going guy who was always up for a laugh.

"I heard someone say yesterday that you didn't have to say too much to get a laugh out of Quinn," he said.

"He will be very missed."

Purnim Cricket Club's current president Trevor Dowd said Mr Ford's teammates held a minute's silence for their mate on Sunday.

"Quinny was somebody who was perhaps limited in his cricket ability but his passion to achieve stuff meant he was always open to anything," he said.

"For example, once when we were short of a keeper, he decided he was a keeper. He thought 'this is a role for me, I'll just do it.'."

Mr Dowd said the club would continue to support Mr Ford's wife and three children.

"Quinn was a great father to his three lovely kids, he fully supported them in everything they do," he said.

"He would do anything for his kids, he was always very supportive of the club and he was always good for a laugh. You knew he was about, he wasn't a quiet one sitting in the corner."
