Mortlake captain Todd Lamont was a star for his team, making 25 and taking three wickets.
The win was the Cats fourth from six Twenty20 encounters this season and has them in the running for a semi-final berth once the competition restarts after Christmas.
It will be a short break for Mortlake, with just one Saturday off before returning to action on January 5 against Noorat.
Lamont said the quick gap between games shouldn’t prove disruptive.
“We weren’t originally drawn to play today (Saturday) but the game was moved so were happy enough to play,” Lamont said.
“It was good to win, we would have liked to be a little higher on the Twenty20 ladder but we aren’t going too bad.
“We’ll enjoy the break and come back ready to go, we won’t train too much before then.”
