The talented wicketkeeper-batsman is in his third season as Cobden captain.
“Lachie Green was captain and he went to university half way through the year,” Benallack said.
“I was in the leadership group so I was asked to take over as captain and I did.
“I enjoy doing it, it’s a good challenge, I try and get everyone up and about.”
It has been a slow start to the season for Cobden, with just one win from seven one-day games and the same result from four Twenty20’s.

Benallack sees the game as another opportunity for his team to take a step forward.
“I have been pretty impressed with our young blokes, they have shown a bit and it is a good chance for them to get some experience,” he said.
“We won our last game so that should give us some confidence.
“Bookaar will be a good test, they are one of the best teams.”
