As chairman of the Warrnambool Junior Basketball Committee I would like to commend our 140 junior players and their team coaches and managers on a substantial effort last weekend when participating in our annual Seaside Classic.

Games were played fairly and with great spirit and were thoroughly enjoyed by all who came to watch.
A highlight for our committee was the great enjoyment the players derived by competing at an advanced level.
I commend each volunteer, coach and manager who contributed their time to ensure that the weekend ran smoothly.
During one game, when some spectators were a little too enthusiastic in their support for the home team, it was very pleasing to witness parents step in and educate the supporters on fair play and support for all.
I thank those parents for upholding our ‘Play by the Rules’ tournament and I look forward to our junior basketball association continuing to hold tournaments of a similarly- high standard again.
