James Felekos, 30, of Wilson Street, unsuccessfully applied for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody until October 8.
He admits his involvement in two daylight robberies, where more than $80,000 worth of items were stolen from homes in Riverview Terrace and Hopkins Point Road in Warrnambool.
Felekos is also believed to be involved in several burglaries in Geelong.
A Riverview Terrace house was broken into on Friday while the family was at school and work. The offender stole $50,000 worth of jewellery, cash and electrical goods.
Wallets with cash inside them, an iMac computer and mobile phones were also taken.
A large amount of the stolen items have since been retrieved.
Detective Senior Constable Wayne Ryan, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said Felekos was using a gram of meth per day and was an unacceptable risk to the community.
He said Felekos had admitted to stealing from homes in order to fund his drug habit.
