Nine players, including four debutants from south-west clubs, were selected in the Rebels’ starting line-up that will host the Bendigo Pioneers at Ballarat’s Mars Stadium on Saturday.
Portland’s Harris Jennings, Camperdown’s Toby Mahony and South Warrnambool pair Jed Henderson and Ben Annett will pull on the Rebels’ guernsey for the first time.
Jennings will start on the half-back flank and Roosters’ duo Henderson and Annett will both set up on the wing, while Mahony will start on the interchange bench.
Those four fresh faces will be joined by familiar south-west representatives in Warrnambool pair Matt Schnerring and Mitch Bidmade, Hamilton’s Lochie Dawson and Portland’s Tylar Watts in the team to run out on Saturday afternoon.
