A PORTLAND man accused of stealing a $20,000 Subaru that was torched has been remanded in custody.

Daniel Winning, 23, of Pile Court Portland, did not apply for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody until April 20.
His charges include stealing a red Subaru on March 10, which was found burnout two days later in Turners Lane at Digby.
Other allegations involve a burglary at the Heywood newsagency and an attempted break-in at the Rosewood Cafe overnight on March 11.
Two other men also appeared in Warrnambool court, after being charged and remanded, did not apply for bail.
Hamilton's Daryl Munroe, 31, of Quigley Street, will be held in custody until April 9.
He has been charged with causing $50,000 damage to his public housing home and urging his dog to attack four policewomen.
Police found extreme damage to the dwelling and it may now be unlivable.
And Warrnambol's Shane Altmann, 28, of Timor Street, did not apply for bail after being charged with breaching his bail curfew conditions.
He was in court last week for stealing food after spending his money on drugs.
But, last Thursday he was charged with being drunk, obscene behaviour and act prejudicial to the good running of a police jail.
He was released on bail with a condition he comply with a 10pm to 7am curfew.
Mr Almann was seen by police in public at 12.30am on Thursday, arrested for breaching his curfew and has now been remanded in custody to appear in court on Monday when it is likely he will plead guilty to charges.
Mr Altmann is very familiar with court and greeted the room full of people in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday by saying "hi everyone".
