The former Cobden footballer now living in Kongorong has rallied neighbouring rural mates and together they’ll drive the fodder the 250km.
Mr Harding said the five semi-trailers and one rigid truck would be loaded in their South Australian depot on Friday.
The remaining seven loads would follow in the upcoming days.
“The first loads should arrive on Saturday,” he said.
Donations of hay and fencing materials, fuel and truck drivers are the result of a call-to-arms Mr Harding’s wife published on social media.
“I was expecting three or four loads,” he said. “But all of a sudden it went crazy.”
Donations were courtesy of cropping farmers in the Mt Gambier area and will be delivered to farms in Cobden and Terang.
“We’re hoping to evenly share the loads,” Mr Harding said. “We’ll go to the farms with nothing at all first.
“I’ve still got plenty of friends and family in the area who have been struck by the fires in one way or the other so I just wanted to help some how.”
