Festival: Beginning on Friday and going through until Sunday, the Lake Bolac Eel Festival has a diverse program set in place. The music line-up will be led by Neil Murray, Mick Thomas & the Roving Commission and David Bridie. Artist Vicki Couzens, conservationist Aunty Beverly Hand and Dr Greg Phillips will be the focus of Q&A sessions. A festival orchestra and choir will be in action. The festival will be held at the Lake Bolac foreshore and Boat Shed.
Film: The Rotary Club of Port Fairy are screening ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ at The Reardon Theatre as their group’s fundraiser on Friday from 7.30pm.
Easter Fair: Koroit and District Primary School will host its inaugural Easter Fair, beginning at 3.30pm and running through until 7pm. Children’s rides, show bags, dance workshops and market stalls will be part of the event. A Easter egg hunt will be held at 5.30pm.
Market: Cudgee Primary School will hold its Harvest Festival on Friday from 5pm.
Stage: The Warrnambool Theatre Company are presenting ‘A Toast to Melba’ at the Lighthouse Theatre from 7.30pm.
Art: The Warrnambool Art Gallery will launch its latest exhibition ‘Mono No Ke’ by Shimura Nobuhiro from 6.30pm, with an artist floor talk on Saturday from 1pm.
SATURDAY
Music: Killarney singer-songwriter Nancie Schipper will feature at a fundraising concert at The Loft in Warrnambool on Saturday. The concert, which begins at 3pm, will also include Shane Howard and Likely Celts. All money raised from the $10 cover charge at the door will go to the Salvation Army to hand out to those affected by the fires and the CFA.
Sale: A community garage sale will be held at the Wangoom Hall from 8am.
SUNDAY
Cars: More than 70 swamp meet and car boot sale sites will be on display at the annual Koroit Lions Club Swap Meet, Show and Shine this Sunday. Up to 100 show vehicles will also be lined up for inspection. The event will be staged at Victoria Park with gates opening at 7am.
Birthday: Archie Roach will headline the entertainment at Purnim's 150 Year Anniversary this Sunday. Celebrations will run from 12 noon to 4pm at the Purnim Hall. A booklet and DVD outlining the history of the town will be released.
School Fair: The St Josephs Primary School Fair will be held on the school grounds from 10am to 3pm. A farmers market, children’s activities and live entertainment will be part of the day.
Beach: Warrnambool’s main beach will be home to a beach clean-up from 11am on Sunday as part of the Sea Shepherd marine debris campaign.
