Senior forecasters at the Bureau of Meteorology said while warm winds would gain strength on Friday they posed little fire threat.
“The winds will be up around the 20 to 30km/h range,” forecaster Stephen King said.
“Nowhere near what we experienced last weekend.”
Mr King said by Saturday temperatures would rise to 29 or 30 degrees and winds to 30 or 40km/h.
“By Sunday we’ll experience a cool change with temperatures expected to reach 18 or 19 degrees,” he said.
CFA representatives said the fire danger would remain high for the next seven days as temperatures warmed up to 30 degrees.
The change over the weekend is also expected to bring rain.
“While strong easterly winds remain, they pose a small potential for fire to break away due to the speed.”
