Warrnambool police Sergeant Jason Dance said investigations were continuing, but the woman had been identified as being involved in the incident at the pub.
“Other witnesses have been identified and police hope to speak to them in coming days,” he said.
Monday: A WOMAN glassing another woman at the Seanchai Irish Pub early Sunday has led to a police call for witnesses to come forward.
Warrnambool police Sergeant Jason Dance said an incident happened in the new upstairs nightclub area at the Seanchai about 12.30am Sunday.
"A female was attacked by another woman and glassed in the face. The victim required stitches," he said.
"She suffered a serious injury to the face, eye, cheek area. The woman was taken to the Warrnambool Base Hospital for assessment and treatment and the wound required stitches."
Sergeant Dance described the incident as very serious.
"It was quite nasty," he said.
"We are investigating and would like any witnesses, or anyone with information about the identity of the female offender, to contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 0000," he said.
