The new strategy at the VRC has seen leadership changes with Executive General Manager Racing Martin Talty and Senior Manager Flemington Racecourse Mick Goodie leaving.
O’Keeffe filled the role as assistant manager at the Flemington Racecourse for the past four years after working at Warrnambool Racing Club for more than six years.
VRC Chief Executive Officer Neil Wilson said the club is delighted that Liam has accepted the role.
“Liam’s leadership qualities and extensive experience will enable the VRC to deliver on our short term operational requirements and long term racing strategy objectives,” Wilson said.
Warrnambool Racing Club chairman Nick Rule said the appointment was wonderful news for Liam.
“We’re thrilled with the news about Liam taking over as the Senior Manager Flemington Racecourse,” Rule said. “It’s a wonderful result for Liam’s hard work and commitment for many years.”
The changes are effective immediately.
