Dual group one winner Lightning Frank is set to jump from box three in his return to Wannon Park, almost nine months on from his last start at the track.
Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club manager Craig Monigatti said the Mathew Wright-trained chaser was a major drawcard for the track.
“He trialed here a couple of weeks ago and there were about 25 people out to watch him then,” Monigatti said.
“It’s just fantastic to have him back here. He raced at Ballarat last week and had a good win, so it’s good to have him back racing at his home track.
“To have a two-time group one winner trained and owned (in the south-west) is great for the region and for racing as a whole.
“He’s a big drawcard for us.”
The three-year-old will start as a short-priced favourite with bookmakers.
Cudgee trainer Gary Hunt has Robyn’s Boy in the 8.19pm race, while Raymond Brewer has Lucky Brew.
