The Bombers confirmed via social media on Tuesday night that Emily and Jaymie, daughters of former player Peter Finch, had signed with the club for the 2018 season.
A grade coach Nadine McNamara confirmed that Peter’s ties to the club were part of the Finch sisters’ decision to part ways with last year’s grand finalist Camperdown.
“They have previous ties to the club with their father being a past player,” she said. “We approached them to see if they would be interested in coming across and they came back and committed to us last week.”
McNamara said that the pair would be a boost to the Bombers.
“They are both really experienced players from Camperdown’s side and I think they will add a lot of depth to our list and help make our main group more experienced,” she said.
“After last year one of the areas we needed to improve on was our goal percentage and our volume of goals and I think both girls will be able to help us with that.”
McNamara said the sisters would be working closely with Molly Hutt in Cobden’s attacking end and provide power to the Bombers shooting ranks.
“Both are quite different players and people always talk about them as a package deal, but they are quite different in the way that they play,” she said. “It will be really good to see them working with Molly.”
