Camperdown police Senior Constable Tony McLachlan said the woman, travelling east towards Lismore, lost control of the car after getting into some gravel at 7pm.
He said the small Pugeot hatchback travelled to the other side of the road and rolled two to three times before coming to rest on its roof.
Senior Constable McLachlan attributed the accident to inexperience and said the woman was taken to Warrnambool hospital as a precaution. The vehicle was extensively damaged and was towed from the scene.
Camperdown police, SES and ambulance officers attended the accident.
