“We have stabilised the sides, and at the start of this year we have had two rinks that are going really well,” he said.

“Instead of what we did a few years ago, where we moved things around and we ended up falling down.

“So we left those two rinks alone and just tried to stabilise the other two and its seems to have worked.”

Green now sits fifth, 11 points behind City Memorial Gold. They play last-placed Lawn Tennis on Saturday and City Memorial Gold the following week. 

Stonehouse believes Terang’s recent form will be enough to get them into the final four and securing a finals berth.

“We’ve played city at their home green and we were leading them after 75 ends, which is a good sign and shows we are capable of defeating the top sides,” he said

“We knew after the Christmas break, that if we won all our games that we were a big chance.

“No one gave us that chance before Christmas, but we knew that there were games after the break that we could win, and it doesn't mean you're going to win them all, but we have and we have given ourselves a chance now. The ball is in our court really and everyone is aware of it.”

Stonehouse highlighted Green’s strongest rink this season, Jamie Heffernan’s, which currently sits on top of the skippers ladder.

“Jamie’s rink has only lost one game for the whole season,” he said.

“He along with Kevin Johnson, Gary Fowler, who has returned from Queensland, and Trevor Rees, who is a new bowler to the club, have bowled really well together recently.

“Their rink would be without a doubt the standout for us over the season.”
