Warrnambool firefighters and police were called to the incident at 9.05am on Friday after reports of a van fire on Raglan Parade, between Kelp and Japan Streets.
Senior Station officer, Robert Howell, said the fire started underneath the vehicle and a nearby business owner used a fire extinguisher to put the blaze out.
He said there was minor damage to the van and two fire trucks and eight firemen attended the incident.
