Farmer Power spokesperson Jane Stanley said the expo at the Terang Civic Centre was laying the groundwork for a two year program that it intended to pursue to help dairy farmers establish appropriate energy solutions for their farms.
Dr Stanley said the program was a partnership between Farmer Power and the new energy providers and would help farmers apply for finance to install new energy systems.
The program also hoped to set up demonstrations of new energy systems on local farms and help farmers change from energy consumers to energy generators, she said.
Dr Stanley said the expo would present information about breakthrough technologies as well as game changing financial solutions for farmers and others.
The free expo will include an exhibition by technology providers, starting at 10.30 am, to be followed by a series of workshops to discuss different aspects of energy management, starting at 1pm.
At the expo will be the state government that will provide information about grants for energy systems and Sustainable Melbourne that will have information on loans to buy new energy systems.
Other exhibitors will be:

- Thermal Energy Solutions (heat exchange).
- Optimal (micro-turbines)
- Gekko Systems (biogas)
