A grass and scrub fire at Bookaar has been brought under control.
Noorat CFA captain Craig Wood said the cause of the fire was yet to be determined but had been maintained to one paddock.
Mr Wood said about 4.5 hectares had been burnt.
“We hit it hard and the lads did really well to contain it,” he said.
“It was hard work with some of the trees in the paddock, but we got it under control.”
Mr Wood said brigades from Noorat, Bookaar, Mortlake, Wooriwyrite and The Sisters.

FIRE fighters have been called to a grass and scrub fire north of Camperdown.
A CFA spokeswoman said the incident was reported at 2.07pm at Bookaar and the fire was not yet under control.
She said 15 CFA vehicles were attending the Darlington Road fire and aircraft had been called for support.
According to the Vic Emergency website the fire is travelling towards Lake Bookaar.
A watch and act message has been issued for people in Bookaar, Gnotuk, Skibo.
