The 19-year-old will take on the role of playing coach at the Lions for the 2018 Warrnambool and District Football Netball League.
The ex-Cobden and Allansford player isn’t overwhelmed by the significance of coaching A-grade at such a young age.
“I'm pretty excited about it,” Rohan said.
“I feel like I have the support there and I don't feel intimidated by the whole situation.
“I will have people like Kylie Carter (assistant and A Reserve coach) on the sidelines helping me out a lot.”
Rohan wants to continue what Lisa Pender did with the integration and development of junior players into the senior ranks.
“I would like to give a lot of the young girls a run, because I now when I was a junior I wanted to get the confidence and be ready to play at the senior level,” she said.
“I will aim to try and make the transition easier for the girls.”
Rohan doesn’t believe the new role will impact how she plays.
“It wont effect me at all,” she said. “It will be different, as I’ll be focusing on what the other girls are doing and not my own game.
“Kylie will give me the feedback for me and the girls and I don’t have to worry about how I am playing.
“I wanted to have someone on the bench while I’m playing and can help me with coaching the girls.”
Rohan is coming off a successful first year with the Lions where she was instrumental in South Rovers’ climb back up the league ladder and into the finals, also making the WDFNL team of the year and winning the club’s and finishing runner-up in the league’s A-grade best and fairests.
Rachael Hawkes will be taking the reins of the B-grade side for 2018.
