A LUCKY seven-wicket haul from Jye McLaughlin helped Camperdown secure an unlikely upset against forth-placed Cobden in the South West Cricket Association A-grade one-dayer on Saturday.

McLaughlin finished with 7-30 to lead the Lakers to an upset four-wicket win.
The Lakers bowler was quick to play down his haul.
“I got a little bit lucky, I was just a change of end bowler and managed to get a wicket and then just got on a roll from there,” he said.
“However, I am very fortunate to get the achievement and It's certainly something I’ll look back on later in my playing career.”
At one stage the Lakers did not have a full XI on the field.
“We only had nine fielders at one point, who got called back at work and we had to use a six-one field,” McLaughlin said.
“Our bowlers did an immaculate job of not allowing their top order to get away, and it created a platform for us to come in and attack once we had a full team.
“It was not ideal and adversity is something Camperdown has become accustomed to, but we made the best of a worse situation and we were able to put ourselves in a position to win.”
Saturday’s breakthrough lifts a large weight of the Lakers’ shoulders.
“It was a relief for us, as it's been a tough start to the one-dayers,” McLaughlin said.
“It was good for the younger guys who haven't been around the club for long and with the losses we’ve had and then to have a win like that and see the smiles on their faces was great.”
