The health clinic was able to purchase the defibrillator thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club of Warrnambool Daybreak and Specsavers. 

Health Manager at the clinic Julieanne Crow said she was grateful for the grant. 

“Defibrillators are expensive pieces of equipment and we wanted to purchase one to assist in providing high quality and timely best practice clinical care for all our clients who access the service as required,” she said. 

Mehul Patel is the owner of Specsavers Warrnambool and a member of the Rotary Club of Warrnambool Daybreak.

“It’s fantastic to see where the money we raised has gone towards, and the difference it will make in saving the lives of those in the local area,” he said. 

Gunditjmara health clinic is a non-profit organisation which offers bulk billed health services to both the aboriginal and non- aboriginal community. 

Specsavers Local Public Relations Coordinator, Briony Fitzgerald said every Specsavers team chooses a charity which is closest to their hearts.

A portion of every pair of glasses sold goes towards the rotary club. 

“It made sense for our store to partner with the rotary club from the very beginning, seeing as they do such great work in the local community,” said Mr Patel.

Specsavers and the Rotary Club of Warrnambool Daybreak are keen to continue supporting the Gunditjmara health clinic in the future.
