Friday’s event, which begins at 5.30pm, involves participants dressing in white clothes and getting covered head to toe in coloured powder throughout a five kilometer circuit.
Run, walk, skip, hop or jump, all ages and abilities are welcome at the event.
Currently, almost 300 tickets have been sold.
All the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the bullying prevention organisation, Bully Zero Australia.
Tickets can be bought from the Moyne Shire Council Facebook page or purchased on the day.
It has taken Moyne Shire’s youth councillors more than a year to organise the event.
Emmanuel College student Morgan Barby, has been a Moyne Shire youth councillor for the past two years.
This will be the second time the 16-year-old has helped plan and execute a colour run event.
Mortlake hosted its own colour run two years ago but the Moyne Shire decided this year, it was Port Fairy’s turn.
“We wanted the zero bullying message to reach as many people as it could, Port Fairy was the perfect location because it is a brilliant local little spot and there is lots of tourists at this time of year,” she said.
Miss Barby is passionate about raising awareness around issues such as bullying and hopes the skills she’s learning as a youth councillor will lead her down a leadership career path.
“Getting out of my comfort zone can be difficult, I wouldn’t say I love getting up on stage and public speaking but it has helped with my confidence,” she said.
