Fresh from the loss of the Sydney Test, Vince says that he is excited about the switch from Tests to T20, and is optimistic that the Thunder can produce some good cricket to propel them to the finals.

"It is nice to play some T20 cricket, get away from the pressure and sort of discipline of Test cricket in a way and to be able to get out here and enjoy myself and contribute to a few wins," said Vince. "The games that I've been watching of the Thunder, we've been in a position to win the game on quite a few occasions, but not quite got over the line so, hopefully, when we get in that position again we can go that little bit further and get the win."

After being selected in England's T20 side for the upcoming Tri-Series against Australia and New Zealand in February, the 26-year-old said that he will look to use the Big Bash as preparation.

"I'm staying on to play the T20, so it's a nice sort of transition for me going from Test cricket and to get back into the T20 stuff and hopefully take some form into that series," Vince said.

The Sydney Thunder play the Perth Scorchers at Spotless Stadium on Thursday, before taking on cross-town rivals the Sydney Sixers at the SCG on Saturday night, a derby Vince says he's looking forward to.

"It was good fun last year actually, I think we bowled them out quite cheaply. So it was nice to get the win. It would be nice to go back there in front of a good crowd, hopefully put on a good show," Vince said.

The right-hander will look to contribute to some wins for the Thunder, who this season have won only two from six matches. The Western Sydney team is still a chance of making the finals, but will need to win every game to do so.

"I enjoyed my short stint here last year and hopefully we can come in and make an impact, obviously be good to have Uzzie back as well," he said. "We start tomorrow but hopefully 4/4 and we'll see where it takes us.

"I"ve got four games here to try [and] make an impact and try to get into some finals."
