A motorcyclist has been cleared of any major injuries after a collision with a car at Allansford on Tuesday afternoon.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the rider had been transported to Warrnambool Base Hospital for observation.
But she said he had escaped without major injuries.
The intersection of the Great Ocean Road and Princes Highway has been cleared and is open for traffic.
EARLIER: Emergency services were diverting east bound traffic at the intersection of the Great Ocean Road and Princes Highway in Allansford on Tuesday afternoon after a collision between a motorcyclist and an SUV at about 4pm.
Senior Constable Corey Holland from Warrnambool’s Highway Patrol said a male rider in his 50’s was taken to hospital by ambulance after he collided with an SUV.
“The vehicle appears to be travelling from Warrnambool with the intent to turn onto the Great Ocean Road,” he said. “The rider has failed to give way and impacted the driver side of the vehicle.”
Police said relatively low speed at collision meant the rider’s injuries were at this stage non life-threatening.
