Here’s your list of what’s on this week.
Monday, January 1
Beachfest: Join Guru Dudu’s half-hour silent disco walking tour from the beach kiosk at 11am, 12 noon and 7pm.
Beachfest: Make a racket on the sand with free tennis at McGennans Beach between 2 and 3pm.
Moyneyana: Action will move to the Moyne River for the Duck Derby and the Wooden Boat Parade.
Races: Terang Racecourse will host the Terang Co-op’s Kids’ Day out New Year’s Races from 1 to 6pm.
Kids: Flagstaff Hill’s Summer Holiday Program will feature Cooking up a Storm at 11am and Crazy Crows at 2pm.
Music: Aus Music Festival is holding an Aus Legends fundraising event at Simons Waterfront Cafe on January 1 from 3pm.
Market: Port Fairy will host its first community market at Railway Place from 8.30am.
Speedway: World Series Sprintcars hits Premier Speedway for the Speedweek finale. Gates open at 3pm with racing from 5pm.
Tuesday, January 2
Beachfest: Join Guru Dudu’s half-hour silent disco walking tour from the beach kiosk at 11am, 12 noon and 7pm.
Beachfest: Beachfest is offering free learn to surf taster lessons from 1pm to 2pm at McGennans Beach.
Beachfest: McGennans Beach will be the home of Warrnambool’s Big Beach Bash from 11am.
Beachfest: To follow the cricket action, volunteers will be offering ‘Snags on the sand’ from 12 noon.
Moyneyana: Anthony Mitchell and his classical guitar will be on show during the afternoon on Fiddler’s Green.
Movies: Port Fairy Film Society begin their summer movie program on January 2. The series of family-friendly films will screen at 7.30pm at the Riordan Theatre.
Sail: The Warrnambool Yacht Club is hosting its annual New Years Social Regatta from January 2 to 5.
Kids: Flagstaff Hill’s Summer Holiday Program will feature Bead Bugs at 11am and Calligraphy at 2pm.
Cricket: Warrnambool under 17 country week cricket starts across the south-west, runs until Friday.
Wednesday, January 3
Beachfest: Defy Fitness are hosting a Kids Coastal Rock Ramble from 10am. Meet at the Pavilion Cafe for a trek along the coast to 12.30pm.
Beachfest: McGennans Beach will be the home of Warrnambool’s Big Beach Bash from 11am.
Sail: The Warrnambool Yacht Club is hosting its annual New Years Social Regatta from January 2 to 5.
Clay: Fletcher Jones’ Outlaw Gallery are hosting Clay Club each Wednesday of the holidays. Kids aged over four can try their hand at getting creative with clay from 12 noon to 1pm.
Kids: Flagstaff Hill’s Summer Holiday Program will feature Groovy Washer Necklaces at 11am and Suffolk Puffs at 2pm.
Flagstaff: Wednesdays on the Wharf is hosting Russ Goodear & The Bucks, Folk Ballads, Irish, Rock & Alt Country at Flagstaff Hill from 5 to 8pm at Flagstaff Hill.
Beachfest: Warrnambool’s Beachfest program features beach volleyball at McGennans Beach from 11am to 3pm.
Beachfest: Warrnambool’s Beachfest program will kick off with ‘Tunes in the Dunes’ at McGennans Beach from 2 to 6pm. Join the Cheesebrothers in exploring Afro and world beat, hip hop, summer classics and other music from across the globe.

Beachfest: Come and Try Fishing at the Breakwater from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Athletics: Warrnambool Athletics Club starts its four-week five-kilometre summer series. Walk from 5.45pm and run from 6pm, starting at Flagstaff Hill.
Thursday, January 4
Kids: Flagstaff Hill’s Summer Holiday Program will feature Painted Paper Ornaments at 11am and Magnificent Mosaics at 2pm.
Sail: The Warrnambool Yacht Club is hosting its annual New Years Social Regatta from January 2 to 5.
Dogs: Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club is presenting a Circus Night as part of their annual seaside festival. Kids entertainment will include a jumping castle, sports games, mini hot rods, juggling and tightropes from 5.30pm.
Netball: The Beachfest program is featuring Netball Victoria Beach Netball at McGennans Beach from 11am to 3pm.
Friday, January 5
Fishing: Warrnambool Offshore and light game fishing is hosting its annual fishing competition at the Breakwater precinct from January 5 to 13.
Beachfest: Daktari Surf and Dive are hosting a snorkelling morning at Stingray Bay from 9am. Wetsuit and snorkel provided.
Sand: McGennans Beach will be home to Sand Sculpting workshops from 11am to 3pm as part of Beachfest.
Volleyball: Beachfest activities will include Beach Volleyball at McGennans Beach from 11am to 3pm, followed by Snags on the Sand, beach barbecue from 12 noon.
Beachfest: Defy Fitness presents a Coastal Encounter for kids aged 7 to 16. Join the hike from Killarney Reserve to Thunder Point from 10am to 2pm.
Kids: Flagstaff Hill’s Summer Holiday Program will feature Cooking up a Storm at 11am and Crazy Crows at 2pm.
Markets: The Summer Night Markets at Lake Pertobe is a weekly market featuring an array of live music, food stalls, gifts, clothing, fresh produce, toys and books from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.Tonight’s music Kayla Dwyer and Cooper Lower.
Movie: Beachfest is presenting the second of its Twilight Movies in the Park. The PG-rated drama Lion about an Indian boy adopted by an Australian family will screen from 8.30pm.
