POLICE are calling for assistance in their pursuit of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman outside a toilet block in Hamilton.

Investigators released an image of a man – described as 185cm and aged in his late teens with a medium build and brown wavy hair – on Friday.

The woman is understood to have been approached by the unknown man on Lonsdale Street just after 6pm on October 7.

The male sexually assaulted the female before she managed to push him away and call out to a friend who was nearby.

He then ran off and was chased for a short time by the victim’s friend.

He was wearing a black hooded jumper with white writing on the chest and grey track pants.
