Having completed their seven-week face-lift, Seanchai Irish Pub owners say their latest additions are designed to create a new look by adding some old faces.
Co-owner Josh O’Dowd said a collection of stuffed creatures in the upstairs venue ‘Level One’ was the inception of a combination of ideas.
“It came about from my love of taxidermy,” he said.
The venue has welcomed an 89 year-old stuffed peacock that was previously a family pet on acreage in Gippsland.
It joins other creatures in what owners of the late-night watering hole believe has been missing for almost ten years.
“We’re hoping to host big bands,” he said. “And we’re the only venue to be able to have crowds of more than 500 since the end of the Lady Bay and Criterion.”
