Dwyer, whose brother also plays with the Warriors, joins the club after retiring from VFL powerhouse Port Melbourne.
Old Collegians coach Josh Reichman is excited to have Dwyer back in green and gold.
“I’m pumped,” he said.
“As a coach it will be really good to have him playing.
“Obviously his brother Josh plays at the club so it will be good for them to finally play together.
“It will also be really good for the club to be in a position to recruit someone like Sam, which is fantastic achievement for us.”
Dwyer will slot into the midfield and bring invaluable AFL insights to the Warriors.
“His experience at both the top level and VFL is a huge bonus for the club,” Reichman said.
“It will be great for our younger guys to really learn from his experience.
“I’m sure the group will become a big sponge and take in every bit of knowledge they can from him to help improvement.”
Reichman is hopeful that Dwyer can help the Warriors stay in flag contention and bring success to the club.
