It defeated Timboon by 12 shots, 96-84, in a match that was hotly-contested in all four rinks.
The win pushed them four points clear of Warrnambool Gold and 10 clear of City Memorial Gold.
“It’s great to be on top before the break,” Koroit Blue third rink skip Scott Boschen said.
“Playing Timboon on their home green is always a really tough game.
“They (Gold) are very hard to beat when they are at home, so it’s always good to get away with the win when we play there.”
Boschen was critical of his own rink’s performance while praising the rest of the team.
“Timboon bowled better than us on their green, they just keep coming at you all day and they got on top of us,” he said.
“Overall as a team all rinks bowled really well and we have a win and some momentum before the Christmas break.”
Boschen is hoping Koroit Blue can continue its form and refine its game.
“We want to grow in confidence and continue to bowl well against any side in the competition,” he said.
