Cerchi, who saddles up five runners on the seven-race Colac program, rates his handy mare Another Diamond the best chance to register her sixth victory.
Another Diamond ran ninth in her last start when favourite in a mares race at Moonee Valley but the colourful trainer is hoping for a better showing in a $20,000 restricted race at Colac.
“Another Diamond was really disappointing at the Valley,” he said.
“She was in a piggish mood before the Valley run. She’s got a couple things in her favour on Saturday.
“She is on her home track and has won one from one on the track and the other big thing is she does not have to travel.
“She’s a hot-headed mare. We just have to take her out of her box and we’re at the races.”
Cerchi’s other runners are Backstreet Alley, Universal Thief, Menegatti and Super Kean.
“I’ll be seeing if one or two of them will measure up to the Warrnambool May Carnival and if they can’t I’ll be focusing on the carnival at Swan Hill in June.”
